Brewery Vivant

Brewery Vivant

We may be located in the middle of a neighborhood, but we are a full manufacturing brewery. We brew all of our beer on the premises and either pump it over directly to serve in our pub, or we package it to be sold through our wholesale partners.

The brewery itself is a 20 bbl three vessel brewhouse built by our friends across the pond in Wisconsin, the WM Sprinkman Corporation. The signature sign of a Sprinkman system is the 1950’s style milk can that functions as our grant between the mash tun and kettle. The grant allows us to transfer our beer wort from the mash tun without pulling a vacuum on the grain bed. It is both functional and stylish.

We have 20, 40 and 60 bbl cylindrical conical fermenters as well as horizontal storage tanks that have been repurposed from dairy tanks. These storage tanks allow us to give our French style “biere de garde” the extra time it needs to develop and mature before we package it. We think the horizontal surface area gives our beer a little extra house flavor by creating a larger surface area for our yeast to work.

The Pub
Our Pub is a place to indulge in the culture of beer. It is a way of life for us and we love to share our passion with all visitors that take the time to stop in. We also have some pretty cool digs here. Step inside and you will feel like you just stepped inside a Belgian monastery…except we don’t have monks walking around in robes. Instead we have a pretty casual scene where you can come for a goblet of beer with friends, or bring the whole work team down for dinner.

We do more than just make inspired beer here, we also look to create a beer-food experience for you. We do this by putting a lot of thought into our menu selection and carefully matching it with our beer. We have also been known to do this the other way around and design a beer around a single food item.

Brewery Tours
Want to learn about what makes Brewery Vivant beer so special? There is no better way than to learn from the very people whose passion put that beer in your glass. Tours are also a lot of fun. Impress your out-of-town guests by bringing them down to see how your local beer is made.

Official Brewery tours are given every Saturday at 3:00. Due to popular demand and very limited space in our brewery, tours are limited to 35 people on a first come first serve basis. Sorry, we can not take reservations over the phone and can not guarantee spots ahead of time. Best plan is to get here a little early and purchase a tour ticket from the host to be assured a place for the tour.

Must be 21 years or older to take the tour. Cost of the tour is $10 and includes ample beer samples along the way. All tour attendees get 10% off coupon from the company store. Use it for shirts, hats, beer glasses, or take a 4 pk or case of beer home with you.
